Theatralia 2014 17/2

V říjnu 2014 vyšlo anglické číslo časopisu Theatralia s podtitulem „Prague Semiotic Stage

Revisited“, které obsahuje příspěvky ze stejnojmenné konference pořádané na Katedře

divadelní vědy Filozofické fakulty Masarykovy univerzity v květnu 2013. Tématem

konference i publikovaných příspěvků je přínos české strukturalistické školy na poli zkoumání

zákonitostí fungování divadla, především teorie herectví a scénického prostoru, a dále odkaz

členů Pražského lingvistického kroužku a problematika překladu textů pražského

strukturalismu.

Součástí čísla je také představení osobnosti a díla předního českého scénografa Jaroslava

Maliny, výtah z novinových článků týkajících se PLK a recenze odborných publikací

zaměřených na historii i teorii divadla. Odborní editoři: Barbora Příhodová, Tomáš Kačer.

In October 2014 a second issue of theatre journal Theatralia was published entitled “Prague

Semiotic Stage Revisited”. It includes printed versions of scholarly papers given at the

eponymous conference organized by the Department of Theatre Studies, Faculty of Arts,

Masaryk University in May 2013, which dealt with the Czech Structuralist School and its

contributions to the theatre theory, especially to the theory of acting and scenography; the

second big issue of the conference was the legacy of the Prague Linguistic Circle and the

translation of the Structuralist texts into English.

An outstanding figure of Czech scenography, Jaroslav Malina, is presented together with

several of his set designs printed in colour. In the Archive, the activities of some of the

members of the PLC are explored using articles from the Prager Presse, one of the German

contemporary newspapers. As is always the case, the issue brings forth a series of reviews

on the recently published volumes concerned with theatre theory or history.
